Senior Research Curator, Mona — The Museum of Old and New Art, Hobart

Jane joined the initial planning team at Mona—Australia’s largest private museum—in 2007; having been Curator of Major Special Exhibitions in both international and Australian art at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; then Sotheby’s Director of Paintings and Deputy Chairman in Australia.

Since Mona opened in 2011, she has worked on all the museum’s major exhibitions and publications, and writes for its unique interpretive ‘electronic label’ system—the Mona O. She speaks regularly on art and museum practice in Australia and internationally. A graduate of Melbourne and London Universities and former Harkness Fellow, she’s usually based in Melbourne.
