DR. CHERIE LUCAS

Dr Cherie Lucas is a Registered Pharmacist, Senior Lecturer (Pharmacy Education, Curriculum Instruction and Design) and Clinical Education Manager (Manager of Clinical Placements ( Sydney, Rural Australia and International) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

She works collaboratively with the Director and colleagues at the Connected Intelligence Centre at UTS, piloting, evaluating and co-designing an Artificial Intelligence Tool, AcaWriter to assist pharmacy students with reflective professional practice. The research work related to the AI tool has earned the research team two International Awards: The Full Best Paper Award at the Learning Analytics and Knowledge Conference, Canada 2017 and the Teaching Innovation Award, International Pharmacy Education Symposium, Italy 2017.

Dr Lucas is also a recipient of a 2018 University Learning and Teaching Citation Honour and a recipient of the 2019 Australian Award for University Teaching Citation for “Outstanding contribution to student learning: Influencing and motivating pharmacy students to become lifelong reflective learners prepared for the diversity of future professional practice contexts”
