Associate Professor Elizabeth Sigston MBBS FRACS PHD MAICD

Associate Professor Elizabeth Sigston is a surgeon in Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery (ORLHNS) at Monash Health, Bass Coast Health and Victorian Otolaryngology Head & Neck Services at Holmesglen Private Hospital. She has extensive clinical experience with special interests in head & neck surgery, paediatric ENT and obstructive sleep apnoea in both children and adults.

Liz is the Associate Clinical Director of the Monash Institute of Medical Engineering at Monash University, has a PhD in Head & Neck Cancer biology and has published a new systems-based framework for carcinogenesis. She is actively involved in translational and clinical research including use of innovative technologies in head & neck reconstruction, early detection of cancer biomarkers and implants for obstructive sleep apnoea. Associate Professor Sigston in an associate investigator in the NHMRC funded ‘Advancing Women In Healthcare Leadership” initiative.

Associate Professor Sigston is also a member of the ASOHNS National Training Board, an entrepreneur, named as a finalist in the 2015 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards (Entrepreneur), a thought leader and speaker in healthcare, leadership and life coach for healthcare professionals and advocate for wellness in medicine and women in leadership.
