John Funder is an internationally recognised cardiovascular endocrinologist known for his groundbreaking work on aldosterone and mineralocorticoid receptors. A leader in Australian medical research, he has chaired the Australian Society for Medical Research, the Australian and International Endocrine Societies, and Obesity Australia, among others. With over 600 publications across diverse fields, John has shaped science, policy, and research governance, for which in 2015 he was awarded an AC. Serving as a Foundation Board member from 1995-2023, John has been invited to deliver the inaugural Colin Richards and Richard Freeman Lecture at Frontiers 2025, honouring the original Trustees who sought his expertise in establishing the Foundation.
